Nepalese commercial banks’ deposits in Ashadh 2077 (mid-July 2020) increased by 6.6% whilst credit increased only by 1.9% over the previous month. Slow growth of credit is mainly due to lack of demand for credit amid CIVID – 19 pandemic.

Demand deposits, savings deposits and fixed deposits grew by 29%, 21% and 28% respectively over previous year.
