Palm oil dominates Nepalese export up to Falgun 2076. Total export of major commodities increased in first eight months of FY 2019/020 by 38.3% over previous year mainly due to increase in export of palm oil. Palm oil is imported and only packaged in Nepal. So, Value addition in Palm oil is not significant. If we exclude palm oil data, growth in export of major commodities turns out to be marginal (0.8%). Also, export of ready-made garments, juice and pashmina have fallen significantly.
