Nepalese export up to Mid-July 2020. Source Nepal Rastra Bank

Palm oil dominates Nepalese export for FY2076/077 (up to mid-July 2020). Amid lock-down due to COVID-19, total export of major commodities increased in FY 2019/020 by 2.6% over previous year mainly due to increase in export of palm oil. Palm oil is imported and only packaged in Nepal. So, Value addition in Palm oil is not significant. If we exclude palm oil data, growth in export of major commodities turns out to be negative (-17.4%). Export of major commodities except palm oil have fallen significantly.
